BRO seeks developers for Zozila Tunnel

 

The month of November 2012, a total of 3,770 project tenders worth Rs 39,139 crore were floated. Among the floated tenders 3,078 tenders worth Rs 20,695 crore were by various state government, 641 tenders worth Rs 18,372 crore by the Central Government and balance 51 tenders were by private companies. The most notable tender during the month was issued by Border Roads Organisation (BRO).

    On 26 November 2012, BRO invited global RFQs for construction, operation and maintenance of Zozila tunnel including approaches on NH- 1 (10.820 km approach road, 60 m span major PMT Bridge and 700 m Snow Gallery) from km 94 to 119 on Srinagar- Sonamarg Gumri road in the state of Jammu & Kashmir on DBFOT (Annuity) basis. The cost of this project is estimated at Rs 8,942 crore. Another important tender during the month was issued by THDC India. On 07 November 2012, THDC invited bids for EPC contract of 50 (+1.0) MW capacity wind power project at suitable site in any one of the wind potential

states (Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat & Maharashtra) with its comprehensive operation and maintenance for 20 years. The cost of this project is estimated at Rs 345 crore.Among the sectors, Roadways sector continued to be at the top with 1,841 tenders worth Rs 24,339 crore. In this sector NHAI invited a total 38 tenders worth Rs 5,002 crore.

 

Some of the major tenders floated by NHAI during the period were as follows:

 

 
  • Four laning of Yedashi-Aurangabad section of NH-211 under NHDP-IV B. The project is estimated to cost Rs 1,871 crore.
  • Four laning of Aurangabad-Dhule section of NH-211 under NHDP-IVB. The cost of this project is estimated at Rs 1,625crore.
  • Four laning of Dimapur-Kohima section of NH-39 under SARDP-NE. The cost of this project is estimated at Rs 1,090 crore.

 

The Real Estate sector saw 28 tenders worth Rs 1,329 crore during the month. The most notable tender in this sector was issued by Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO). On 14 November 2012, BUIDCO invited RFQs for selection of developers for low cost housing project in Bihar under BSUP component of JNNURM. The project involves the development of 22,000 dwelling units; about 20,000 houses for slum dwellers living in and around Patna Urban Agglomeration (PUA) i.e. Patna City, Danapur, Khagaul and Phuklwari Sharif and about 2,000 houses in Bhodhgaya. The cost of this project is estimated at Rs 700 crore. The Shipping Infrastructure sector saw 27 tenders worth Rs 551 crore being floated during the month. In this sector, most significant tender was issued by the Kandla Port Trust. On 28 November 2012, the Trust invited global RFQs for construction of barge jetty at Tuna in Kachchh district of Gujarat on BOT basis under PPP mode. The cost of this project is estimated at Rs 271 crore. Among the states, Madhya Pradesh accounted for a total of 867 tenders worth Rs 5,122 crore followed by Maharashtra (343 tenders worth Rs 5,463), Andhra Pradesh (307 tenders worth Rs 1,111 crore) and Tamil Nadu (248 tenders worth Rs 998 crore).

  • Cairn Energy India for electrical power house package for developments in Rajasthan Block.
  • Indiabulls Real Estate for structural civil work of tower L, M, N, P & R for Residential Plotted Colony at Gurgaon in Haryana.
  • Tata Memorial Centre for construction of centre for cancer epidemiology at ACTREC, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai in Raigarh district of Maharashtra.

Some of the major EoIs floated during November 2012:

 
  • West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation for setting up of apparel and garment manufacturing units in Paridhan - The Garment Park - Beliaghata, Kolkata.
  • Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory for development of natural gas pipeline network from Shahdol (Madhya Pradesh) to Phulpur (Uttar Pradesh).
  • Bruhut Bangalore Mahanagara Palike for development of skywalk in East Zone, South Zone & West Zone in Bangalore under PPP mode on DBFOT basis.
  • Coimbatore Municipal Corporation for design of bus terminal at Vadavalli, Ward No 16, West Zone in Coimbatore City of Tamil Nadu.
  • Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur for project management consultant for construction of 750-beds super-speciality hospital at IIT Kharagpur in Midnapore district of West Bengal.

  • Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam has awarded contract to Vasishta Construction for construction 1,440.00 mtrs long two lane high level RCC/PSC bridge across Gandak River at Sattarghat on 27th km of Chakia-Kesaria-Sattarghat road with approach road at Kesaria block in Purbi Champaran district of Bihar
  • Public Works Department, Haryana has awarded contract to S.S. Builders for construction of maths and science school building and hostel at Madhi village, Mewat in Haryana
