Jammu & Kashmir seeks JV partner for development of

During June 2011, a total of 2,110 project tenders worth Rs 23,489 crore were floated. Among these, the most significant was by Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC) seeking RfQs for formation of JV for securing, exploring, developing and mining the coal block to be secured through Government Dispensation Route and linkage of coal supply to a coal based power project of suitable capacity (at least of 2,000 MW) to be set up by the JV partner to meet growing power supply demand in Jammu & Kashmir Of all the sectors,maximum number of tenders were invited by the Roadways with 568 tenders worth Rs 8,927 crore. The Community Services called for 463 tenders worth Rs 1,148 crore while the Railways and Power Distribution followed with 202 tenders worth Rs 3,548 crore and 130 tenders worth Rs 1,768 crore, respectively. In the Roadways Sector, As many as 25 project tenders were floated in the Hydro Power sector. This included a tender floated by Power & Electricity Department, Government of Mizoram for selection of private entity for development of Tuivai hydro electric project (3x70 MW) at Ngopa in Champhai district of the state under PPP.

In the Water Supply sector, Gujarat Water Infrastructure (GWIL) invited bids in various packages for providing, laying, jointing and commissioning of bulk water transmission line from 1850 to 2400 mm dia (FID) MS pipeline and pumping stations from Dhanki to Navada, Dhanki to Maliya and Dhanki to Ratanpur on EPC basis. The aggregate cost of these packages is estimated at Rs 2,199 crore.
Among the states, Chhattisgarh ranked at the top with 258 tenders worth Rs 494 crore. Karnataka, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh followed the list with 224 tenders worth Rs 607 crore, 203 tenders worth Rs 5,287 crore and 174 tenders worth Rs 1,973 crore, respectively. Among the total tenders floated, 1,448 tenders worth Rs 15,610 crore were by state government agencies, 617 tenders worth Rs 7,768 crore were by the Union Government and, the balance 45 tenders by Private Companies.
