Mumbai Trans Harbour Link
Project to take off soon

During November 2011, a total of 1,856 tenders worth Rs 24,880 crore were floated. Of the total, 1,353 tenders worth Rs 17,003 crore were by state government agencies, 447 tenders worth Rs 7,869 crore by Union Government agencies and balance 56 tenders were by private companies.

During the month, the most notable tender was floated by the MMRDA. The MMRDA invited global RfQs for the construction, operation and maintenance of the proposed Mumbai Trans Harbour Link from Sewri to Nhava in Mumbai through PPP on DBFOT basis. The cost of the project is estimated at Rs. 8,800 crore. The much delayed Mumbai Trans Harbour Link project of 22 km is planned as a six-lane (3+3) carriageway to connect Sewri in Mumbai with Sheva in Navi Mumbai along NH-4B. Provisions are also made for independent twin track metro rail on the bridge to be implemented in the Phase II. The length of the main cable-stayed sea-bridge is 16.5 km and the approach viaduct is 5.5 km.

Another prominent tender during the month was floated by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) for appointment of consultant for conducting detailed feasibility study for proposed Onshore LNG Import Terminal and Regasification terminal at Chhara in Junagadh district of Gujarat.

The Roadways sector continued to top the sector wise list of tenders with 701 tenders worth Rs 17,705 crore. The most important tender in the roadways sector was floated by the NHAI. The authority invited global RfQs for the four laning of Goa/Karnataka Border-Kundapur section from km 93.700 to km 283.300 of NH-17 in the state of Karnataka on DBFOT (Toll) basis under NHDP-IV. The cost of this project is estimated at Rs 1,689 crore. In all, the NHAI floated 40 project tenders worth Rs 6,218 crore. Out of these floated tenders, the NHAI invited global bids for preparation of DPRs for rehabilitation and upgradation of ten national highway stretches in the state of Rajasthan.

 

 

Some of the other major tenders by NHAI:

Four laning of Sultanpur-Varanasi section of NH-56, NHDP-IVB (Rs 1,406 crore)

Four laning of Chandikhole-Duburi-Talcher section of NH- 200, NHDP-III (Rs 1,273 crore)

Six laning of Allahabad-Varanasi section of NH-2, NHDP-V (Rs 1,048 crore)

 

During the month, the Water Supply sector saw invitation for 80 tenders. Around 19 tenders were for setting up of water, effluent treatment plants. The most noteworthy tender was floated by the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority. The authority invited bids for augmentation of water supply scheme of SAS Nagar (Phase-V & VI) from Kajauli Head Works to Water Works, SAS Nagar. The cost of the project is estimated at 156 crore. Another tender in the same sector was invited by Directorate of Urban Development, Tripura Government, for preparation of drainage plan and the DPR of drainage system of Agartala Municipal Area.

The Real Estate sector saw 32 tenders being floated during November 2011. The most notable tender in this sector was floated by U P Housing & Development Board for engineering, procurement and construction of multi-storied residential houses in Ganga, Yamuna & Hndon Enclave at Sector-10, Siddharth Vihar, Ghaziabad. The cost of the project is estimated at 350 crore. Among the states, Andhra Pradesh accounted for a total of 300 tenders worth Rs 880 crore followed by Madhya Pradesh (245 tenders worth Rs 1,262 crore), Maharashtra (163 tenders worth Rs 9,635 crore) and Chhattisgarh (133 tenders worth Rs 401 crore).

Aurum Renewable Energy for setting up of 20 MW solar thermal power plant at Mitrala village in Porbandar district of Gujarat, on EPC basis.

Gaurangdih Coal for selection of MDO to undertake development and mining of coal in Gaurangdih ABC Block in Raniganj Coalfield in West Bengal.

Patel Hydro Power for EPC contract for design, build and completion of civil, electro mechanical and hydro mechanical works of 45 MW Saskong Rong hydro electric project in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Joshi Technologies International Inc for drilling rig services, mud engineering services, mud logging services, directional drilling services, cementation services and wire line logging & perforation services for five wells of depth, approx. 1800 mtr (3C.P) in Dholka Block, Gujarat.

Reliance Power for EPC execution of civil works covering infrastructure works, diversion arrangement, dam, intake, head race tunnel, surge shaft, pressure shaft, penstock, powerhouse complex, tailrace tunnel and associated hydro mechanical works for Tato-II Hydro Electric Project (4x175 MW) on river Siyom in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

  • Maharashtra Agro-Industries Development Corporation for preparation of detailed project report, project management, construction supervision, monitoring and evaluation of state-of-the-art customized fertilizer plant on PPP at Puntamba in Rahata taluka of Ahmadnagar district in Maharashtra.
  • Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation for development of tourism facilities at seven Jalayagnam sites on BOT basis in Andhra Pradesh.
  • Department of Health & Family Welfare, Chhattisgarh, to set and manage super specialty hospitals at various locations in Chhattisgarh on PPP mode.
  • Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries for establishment of 15 new mega food parks in Haryana, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Goa and Puducherry.
  • Infopark Kerala to join as a co-developer for Infopark Kochi Phase II Project in Kerala.
