NTPC seeks EPC contractor for Khargone STPP

The month of February 2012 witnessed 26.42 per cent rise in project tendering activity as compared to January 2012. As against 2,809 tenders worth Rs 15,539 crore of the previous month, a total of 3,551 tenders worth Rs 18,323 crore were floated in February. NTPC invited tenders for EPC package of its proposed 1,320 MW (2x660) Khargone super thermal power project in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh. The scope of works includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, construction, erection, testing & commissioning works on the basis of single point responsibility in respect of steam generator, steam turbine generator, all balance of plant systems, all electrical systems including switchyard, complete control and instrumentation and complete civil, structural and architectural works.

 

 

The Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT, Hyderabad) invited pre-qualification for construction of academic, hostels and residential buildings along with necessary infrastructure facilities in the permanent campus at Kandi, NH-9 in Medak district of Andhra Pradesh. The cost of this project is estimated at Rs 750 crore.

 

Among the sectors, Roadways sector continued to be at the top with 1,787 tenders worth Rs 8,159 crore. The most important tender in this sector was issued by the NHAI for four laning of Rohtak-Hisar section from km 87.000 to km 170.000 of NH-10 including connecting link from 87.000 of NH-10 to km 348.000 of NH-71 in Haryana. The cost of this project is estimated at Rs 1,028 crore. Another tender in the sector was issued by Tamil Nadu Road Development Company for development of Chennai Outer Ring Road Phase II from Nemilichery in NH-205 to Minjur in TPP road on DBFOT basis. The cost of this project is estimated at Rs 940 crore.

The Water Supply sector saw the 187 tenders being floated worth Rs 1,724 crore during the month. The most noteworthy tender in this sector was issued by the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Rajasthan. The PHED invited bids in two separate packages Chambal-Bhilwara Water Supply Project Phase I with operation and maintenance for 10 years on turnkey basis. The scope of works includes construction of intake PS at Chambal river near Bhaisrodgarh, intermediate pumping station at Bhunjar Kalla and Tilsva and MS raw water transmission main from intake to WTP at Rasadpura and construction of 245 MLD capacity WTP at Rasadpura and MS clear water gravity main from WTP to transfer pumping station at Bhilwara city along with SCADA system. The aggregate cost of this project is estimated at Rs 478 crore.

 

Another tender in the same sector was issued by the Water Resources Department (WRD), Jharkhand. On 13 February 2012, WRD invited bids for preparation of the DPR for augmentation of drinking water supply to Hazaribag town on basis of 30 years population forecasting by planning and design of suitable dam on river Mohane.

 

Of the total project tenders invited, 2,832 tenders worth Rs 13,625 crore were by state government agencies, 665 tenders worth Rs 4,624 crore by Central Government agencies and balance 54 tenders were by private companies. Among the states, Orissa accounted for a total of 551 tenders worth Rs 1,155 crore followed by Madhya Pradesh (337 tenders worth Rs 1,948 crore), Maharashtra (294 tenders worth Rs 853 crore) and Andhra Pradesh (256 tenders worth Rs 1,535crore).

  • Ramesh Hydro Power invited global bids for electro mechanical, hydro mechanical and civil works for 24 MW Selti Musrang small hydro electric project in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh
  • Pratham Enterprises invited bids for civil works for development of high rise residential apartments at Vadodara in Gujarat
  • GeoEnpro Petroleum invited global bids for providing services and supplies for Kharsang Oilfield in Himachal Pradesh
  • Jhabua Power invited global bids for main plant package (BTG) for 1x660 MW coal based power plant in Seoni district of Madhya Pradesh
