Asia's biggest biennial event, the 9th International Oil and Gas Conference & Exhibition, Petrotech 2010, concluded in an optimistic and upbeat mood. The event was organised by India's largest oil explorer ONGC and Petrotech Society under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India with ITE Group PLC, UK, as the exhibition partner. Petrotech 2010 drew enormous global attraction as more than 356 exhibitors from 28 countries worldwide including 10 country pavilion participated in the event. The Petrotech 2010 exhibition was inaugurated by Hon'ble Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas (P&NG) Murli Deora in the presence of many other dignitaries MOS, MOPNG, Patron, Jitin Prasad, Secretary (P&NG), S Sundereshan, CMD, ONGC, Chairman Steering Committee, RS Sharma, along with ministerial delegates from different countries.

Murli Deora along with other dignitaries also released two books titled "Deepwater Potential, Exploration & Operational Challenges" published by Oil & Maritime and another book by Petrofed titled "View from the Top Oil & Gas industry Survey". The event witnessed significant participation from major industry players like ONGC, OIL, IOC, HPCL, GAIL, Reliance, BPCL, and many more. The exhibition also marked the presence of 10 country pavilions which includes Canada, China, Denmark, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Netherlands, Qatar, Russia and UAE.
