Railway Board seeks developer for elevated rail corridor in mumbai

 

During August 2012, a total 2,613 project tendeRs worth Rs 42,212 crore were floated. Among the floated tendeRs , 1,999 tendeRs worth Rs 10,187 crore were by various State Government entities, 591 tendeRs worth Rs 32,002 crore by the Central Government and balance 23 tendeRs were by private companies.

 

The most notable tender was issued by Ministry of Railway (Railway Board for development of elevated rail corridor. On 08 August 2012, the board invited RFQs for development of 63 km long, mostly elevated (partially underground/at grade) rail corridor between Oval Maidan-Churchgate-Virar of Western Railway in Mumbai Area. The project will be implemented through PPP on DBFOT basis. The cost of this project is estimated at Rs 21,000 crore.

 

Another important tender during the month was issued by Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR). On 24 August 2012, IGCAR invited RFQs for construction of various plant buildings and structures including civil, electrical & mechanical works for Fast Reactor Fuel Cycle Facility at Kalpakkam in Tamil Nadu. The cost of this project is estimated at Rs 1,700 crore.

 

Among the sectoRs , the Roadways sector continued to be at the top with 1,022 tendeRs worth Rs 9,629 crore. The most important tender in this sector was issued by the NHAI for four laning of Bhavnagar-Veraval section from km 3.200 to km 263.000 of NH-8E in Gujarat through PPP on DBFOT (Toll) basis. The cost of this project is estimated at Rs 2,782 crore. Another tender in the same sector was issued by the Municipal Corporation of Bhopal for preparation of the DPR, engineering surveys and investigation and financial analysis of proposed Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) Corridor-2 & 3 on PPP model at Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. The Water Supply sector saw the 194 tendeRs worth Rs 1,649 crore being floated during the month. The most notable tender in this sector was issued by the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCo) for preparation of the DPR for provision of 24x7 water supply and distribution system in five towns namely Buxar, Hazipur, Munger, Begusarai and Rajgir in Bihar. Another notable tender in the same sector was issued by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation for construction of 110 MGD jetty & raw water pumping station, raw water transmission main, 50 MGD water treatment plant & clear water pumping station at Garden Reach Area in Kolkata. The cost of this project is estimated at Rs 210 crore.

 

In the Airways sector, the Department of Tourism, Uttar Pradesh invited bids for selection of consultant for site finalisation and development of Taj International Airport in Uttar Pradesh through PPP mode on DBFOT basis. Among the states, Madhya Pradesh accounted for a total of 265 tendeRs worth Rs 1,918 crore followed by Chhattisgarh (258 tendeRs worth Rs 488 crore), Maharashtra worth (239 tendeRs worth Rs 21,982 crore), Karnataka (227 tendeRs worth Rs 1,161 crore).

  • Anand Projects' for pump house raw water intake system package for Lalitpur Thermal Power Project 3x660 MW Unit in Uttar Pradesh
  • BG Exploration & Production India's for 2000 km 2D seismic survey (including related services) planned to be shot for Block MB-DWN-2010/1 in West Coast.
  • Cairn Energy India Pty's for crude oil and gas pipeline repair contract for Mangala Development Pipeline Operations.
  • Reliance Industries' for geophysical and geological services for blocks awarded under NELP-I, II, III, V & VI..
  • Fernas Construction India's for miscellaneous plant, civil and structural works for ongoing offsites and utilities works at Dahej in Gujarat.

 

Some of the major EoIs floated during August 2012 were -

 
  • Oil India's for setting up of natural gas based power plant at Kumachai under Diyun Circle of Changland district of Arunachal Pradesh.
  • Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board's for setting up of sea water based desalination plants on BOT mode for water supply to the industries of Kachchh region of Gujarat on BOT basis.
  • Indian Institute of Management's, Raipur for architectural consultants for planning and designing of comprehensive development of campus including buildings for IIM, Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
  • Orissa Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation's for setting up of IT / ITES / EHM units / built up space in Infovalley at Bhubaneswar.
  • West Bengal Highway Development Corporation's for preparation of pre-feasibility analysis of selected state highways corridoRs in West Bengal under DBFOT pattern on EPC mode in Phase-I.

  • Public Works Department, Madhya Pradesh has awarded contract to Kalika Constructions for upgradation of Malhargarh-Jamdad Road and upgradation of Khandwa- Hosangabad Road (SH-15)-Bhawaniya-Khokhariya- Ashapur-Betul Road (SH-26) in Madhya Pradesh.
  • Roads & Buildings Department, Gujarat has awarded contract to Akash Infra Projects, Gandhinagar for widening of Kadi-Kalyanpura road in Gujarat
