Tourism Department, DNH seek transaction advisor for

During October 2011, a total of 1,679 tenders worth Rs 10,181 crore were floated. Of the total, 1,114 tenders worth Rs 5,275 crore were invited by the state government agencies, 540 tenders worth Rs 4,903 crore by the Union Government agencies and balance 25 tenders were by private companies.
Among these, the most significant tender was floated by Patel Energy (PEL) for design, engineering, manufacture, assembly, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of complete plant, including civil works on EPC basis for 2x660 MW coal based supercritical Arjun Thermal Power Plant in Amreli district of Gujarat.
Another notable tender was floated by Tourism Department, U T Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli (DNH) for appointment of transaction advisor for development of Greenfield airport at Luhari, Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
The Roadways sector continued to top the sector wise list of tenders with 537 tenders worth Rs 4,472 crore. In this sector, the NHAI floated 23 project tenders worth Rs 2,295 crore. The authority invited global RFQs for six laning of Anandapuram- Vishakhapatnam-Anakapalli section from Km 682.98 to Km 741.202 of NH-5 on DBFOT (Toll) basis under NHDP-V. The project is estimated to cost Rs 863 crore. Another, major tender in this sector was floated by the MMRDA. On 17 October 2011, the MMRDA invited global bids for preparation of feasibility report, DPR and bid process management for the proposed Airoli-Katai Naka highway project in Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The project envisages about 12 km long missing link providing connectivity between Mumbai-Navi Mumbai-Kalyan with appropriate interchange / dispersal systems.
During the month, Hospitals sector saw invitation of 59 tenders worth Rs 241 crore. The most prominent tender in this sector was floated by HSCC for the construction of hospital, residences, hostels and academic buildings including PHE, electrical, HVAC, fire fighting and other internal & external services in LGBRIMH Campus at Tezpur in Sonitpur district of Assam. Another tender in same sector was floated by Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences Society for construction of Advanced Cancer Diagnostic, Treatment & Research Center including PHE, electrical, HVAC, internal & external services at Bathinda district of Punjab. Among the states, Maharashtra accounted for a total of 245 tenders worth Rs 1,433 crore followed by Chhattisgarh (133 tenders worth Rs 321 crore), Haryana (125 tenders worth Rs 173 crore) and Karnataka (116 tenders worth Rs 404 crore).
