November witnessed floatation of 3,495 tenders, showing 11.63 per cent rise over 3,131 tenders raised in the preceding month. The amount of work involved therein, based on the availability of requisite information in individual tender documents, was Rs. 29,769 crore, lower compared to Rs. 39,757 crore in tenders issued in October 2010. Out of the floated tenders, 2,168 tenders worth Rs. 8,034 crore were by State Government agencies, 1,279 tenders worth Rs. 21,726 crore were by Central Government agencies and balance 48 tenders were by private sector companies.
Among these project-related tenders issued in November 2010, the most notable one was for the Vizhinjam international deepwater seaport. On 25 November 2010, Vizhinjam International Seaport (VISL), a wholly-owned company of Government of Kerala, invited global RfQs for the development of international deepwater multi-purpose seaport at Vizhinjam in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala. The Rs. 970 crore project will be developed on BOT basis under PPP mode. Another noteworthy project tender during the month was by NHAI. On 13 November 2010, NHAI invited global RfQs for development of six-lane Eastern Peripheral Expressway NE-II on BOT (Toll) basis in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. The cost of the project is estimated at Rs. 2,699 crore.

Roadways topped in categories by sectors with 898 project tenders worth Rs. 20,011 crore. Railways, Irrigation and Community Services followed with 403 tenders worth Rs. 2,061 crore, 374 tenders worth Rs. 1,323 crore and 359 tenders worth Rs. 796 crore, respectively.
The month also saw a notable tender relating to the industrial park floated by Delhi State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC). On 16 November 2010, DSIIDC invited global tenders for architectural and engineering consultancy services for the development of knowledge-based industrial park at Baprola on land of approx 70.6 acre. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 1,450 crore. The Real Estate sector saw 63 project tenders floated during the month. Among the noteworthy tenders in this sector was the one by National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC). On 24
November 2010, NBCC invited tenders for providing consultancy services for re-development of Kidwai Nagar (East) in Delhi. Another notable tender within this sector was that floated by Infrastructures Kerala (INKEL), a Government of Kerala undertaking. On 27 November 2010, INKEL invited bids for preparation of master plan for development of new township in Bypore. The Power Distribution sector saw 221 project tenders worth Rs. 787 crore. Majority of tenders within this sector were for projects in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh. Among the states, Maharashtra topped with 424 tenders worth Rs. 4,116 crore. Orissa, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh followed with 371 tenders worth Rs. 501 crore, 262 tenders worth Rs. 1,051 crore and 261 tenders worth Rs. 487 crore, respectively.
