ABB India, the power and automation company, has won orders worth Rs 220
crore from Tata Projects to provide power products and solutions for a
super-critical coal-fired 2x800 MW Krishnapatnam thermal power plant under
construction in Andhra Pradesh.
ABB will provide an integrated electrical balance of plant solution,
including transformers, switchgear and protection equipment, as well as a 400 kV
turnkey substation to facilitate power transmission from the plant.
The company will also provide system engineering, installation, testing,
commissioning and overall project management. The project slated to be completed
in 2012 is being executed by Andhra Pradesh Power Development Company while Tata
Projects are the Balance of Plants contractors.
