AMRL SEZ, a multi-product special economic zone marketed by Attivo, has created an integrated industrial zone over 2,518 acre at Nanguneri in Tirunelveli district of Tami Nadu, enabling both global and national manufacturers to establish and expand their manufacturing facilities in India.
The SEZ is ready to house a diverse set of industries including electronics, medical equipment, general engineering, auto ancillaries and components, solar and many more and has the potential to generate employment opportunities for over 20,000 people.
AMRL SEZ is strategically located and provides easy access to the Tuticorin port and airport. The Thiruvananthapuram International Airport and the Madurai International Airport are in close proximity.
It is also well-connected with road and rail networks, allowing industries to connect and communicate with global and national markets. The manufacturers setting up production facilities will also benefit from water supply, uninterrupted power supply, telecommunication infrastructure.
Built on smart city concepts, AMRL SEZ encompasses an SEZ with an adjoining proposed domestic tariff area (DTA) and a free trade and warehousing zone (FTWZ).
The SEZ has already started attracting corporate groups who are setting up manufacturing facilities in AMRL SEZ. A leading medical equipment manufacturer has entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop a medical equipment research and manufacturing unit over 117 acre.
Moreover, several global manufacturers from sectors such as renewable energy, defence, aerospace, electronics and toys have initiated discussions to set up facilities as a part of their plan to relocate their operations from China to India.
Phase-1 of the project has been completed with over 250 acre of infrastructure development and currently 13 companies are operating from the SEZ and have exported close to USD 100 million. Phase-2 of the project will be launched in 2021.
