Adani Power Maharashtra has tied up for coal linkages and has been allotted
blocks for captive coal mines for its upcoming 1,320 MW thermal plant at Tiroda.
South Eastern Coalfields will be supplying coal linkages while the Union
Government has allotted blocks at Lohara in Chandrapur district in the Vidarbha
region for the plant which will start generating power from the second half of
2011-12.
Work on erecting boiler for the first generating unit is likely to commence
in October while construction of the main plant is to commence in November 2009.
On completion of Phase I, the company plans to expand the capacity to 3,300
MW in Phase II.
