Adani Power has commenced power generation at the unit I of its 4,620 MW
coal-based thermal power plant at Mundra in Gujarat on 24 May 2009. The company
commissioned and synchronised its 330 MW unit by producing 50 MW of power.
The boiler, turbine and generators used in the power plant are manufactured
and supplied by Chinese companies.
Besides, Adani Power has laid 400 kV double circuit transmission line for 400
km from Mundra to Dehgam to evacuate power to the national grid and the circuit
line has already become functional.
The Mundra power project, estimated to cost Rs 20,000 crore, is comprised of
four units of 330 MW each and 5 super critical units of 660 MW each.
