The Ahmedabad-based Adani Group has
proposed to invest Rs.2,000 crore in setting up a special economic zone near
the Mundra Port in Gujarat, over the next five years.
The group is expecting the necessary approvals
to fall in place soon. The SEZ would come up over an area of 10,000 hectares.
The Gujarat government has delayed its
approval to the SEZ by over a year. It is now understood that the proposal is
being forwarded to the Centre. Once the proposal is cleared, the Adani group
would start the market survey of the SEZ.
