Amazon India plans to expand its network of micro-fulfilment centres or dark stores by adding over 200 new facilities by the end of 2025, raising the total count to more than 300.
This expansion is part of a Rs 2,000 crore investment aimed at enhancing the company’s storage, sorting, and delivery infrastructure across the country. Currently, Amazon’s quick commerce arm, Amazon Now, operates 100 micro-fulfilment centres in major cities including Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru. In preparation for the Amazon Great Indian Festival, the company recently launched 17 new fulfilment centres, six new sortation centres, and 75 new delivery stations.
The Rs 2,000 crore investment will be directed toward further developing these critical supply chain components, strengthening Amazon’s capacity to process and deliver orders efficiently across India. This move underscores Amazon’s commitment to accelerating its logistics capabilities to meet rising consumer demand and improve delivery speed nationwide.
