Amazon has announced a significant investment of Rs 2,000 crore (approx. USD 233 million) in India in 2025 to strengthen its logistics and delivery infrastructure. The funds will support the expansion of Amazon India's fulfilment centres, sortation hubs, and delivery stations across the country.
Existing facilities will also be upgraded with advanced automation, energy-efficient cooling systems, improved safety measures, and rest areas for delivery personnel, including infrastructure accessible to people with disabilities. “Over the past decade, we’ve built one of India’s most extensive logistics infrastructures,” said Abhinav Singh, Vice President of Operations, Amazon India. “This fresh investment is part of our long-term commitment to improve delivery speed, enhance safety, and support the people who power our network.”
This move aligns with Amazon's focus on enhancing service speed and reliability across its serviceable pin codes in India. By increasing fulfilment capacity and leveraging automation, the company aims to process and deliver customer orders more efficiently. Beyond infrastructure, Amazon's investment aims to uplift employee welfare and generate jobs, especially in smaller towns. It also seeks to support local small businesses, thereby reinforcing its commitment to India as a key growth market.
