Amazon.in has signed a lease agreement with GMR Hyderabad Airport City to expand its largest fulfillment centre (FC) in the country. The existing FC is spread across 4,00,000 sq ft and will now be expanded by another 1,80,000 sq ft.
With this investment, Amazon.in has more than three fulfillment centres in the state with a total processing area of more than 8,50,000 sq ft. The new FC furthers Amazon India’s commitment to continued investment in infrastructure to match its rapidly expanding business in Telangana.
With new infrastructure, Amazon India is able to impact local communities through full-time and part-time job creation and skilling across the state and the country. In June 2019, the company also announced the launch of its largest delivery station in Telangana spread across more than 20,000 sq ft.
Amazon India has committed to set up three fulfillment centres in Hyderabad with more than 3.2 million cu ft of storage space. Two sorting centres in Hyderabad with 1,00,000 sq ft of processing capacity and close to 90 amazon-owned and service partner delivery stations in the state. It will also have close to 2,500 ‘I Have Space’ delivery stores in Telangana.
