Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Rajasthan government to set up a 1 GW renewable energy (RE) plant in the state.
BPCL’s initiative in the RE segment includes reaching 1 GW of renewable energy by 2025 and 10 GW by 2040, as part of its goal of net zero in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2040. Additionally, the company is pursuing a target of 20 percent ethanol blending in petrol by 2025-26, which is currently at 10 percent.
The investment in Rajasthan will spearhead green projects accompanied by sustainable economic development in the state.
