The Water Resources Department (WRD), Maharashtra, has invited bids for major infrastructure works under the Shivna Takli medium project, located in taluka Kannad, district Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
The work involves completing all remaining allied works on the right main canal spanning from 22 km to 55 km in the Vaijapur Taluka, along with the installation of a closed pipe distribution network (PDN) in the command areas of both Kannad and Vaijapur talukas. With an estimated value of Rs 128.3 crore and a completion timeline of 24 months, this initiative aims to boost irrigation efficiency and agricultural productivity in the region.
The implementation of the PDN system is expected to enhance water use efficiency and ensure equitable distribution across command areas, and further, the project will significantly improve irrigation coverage and bring modernisation to existing water management systems.
The closing date for bid submission is 30 October, 2025.
