The Export
Promotion Bureau of the Government of Uttar Pradesh has invited offers from world
class infrastructure developers with international experience for setting up an
integrated special economic zone (SEZ) at Bhadohi in the State.
The project had received Central
Government clearance in January 2001.
An area of 1,000 hectares has been
earmarked for the SEZ. The land required for the first phase of the project is
being acquired by the Bhadohi Industrial Development Authority.
The Bhadohi SEZ would be eligible
for all the incentives announced by the Government for setting up of SEZs and
for infrastructure projects. Also, the Development Commissioner of the SEZ
would have full powers with regard to labour issues and single window
clearances on fast-track basis.
The last date for
submission of bids is 17 July 2001.

may be recalled that on 18 May 2001, the State Government’s Export
Promotion Bureau had invited offers for appointing consultants for a special
economic zone and an international airport along with an aviation hub, at
Greater Noida in the State.
