The Bihar Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has approved 47 key agendas encompassing urban development, education, social welfare, infrastructure, and administrative reforms.
In urban development, the Cabinet approved the upgrade of Phulwari and Danapur Nagar Parishads to Municipal Corporations, signaling a boost in civic governance. Major funding has been allocated to enhance water supply infrastructure: Rs 138 crore for Ara, Rs 1,130 crore for Siwan, Rs 76 crore for Sasaram, and Rs 497 crore for Aurangabad, totaling over Rs 1,800 crore.
Under the Education and Social Welfare departments, the Cabinet sanctioned the establishment of the Buxar-Rohtas Residential School and approved 935 posts for Assistant Education Development Officers and 190 posts in the Social Welfare Department. Administrative reforms included amendments to the Bihar Polytechnic and Engineering Education Service Rules, 2025. Also, new housing project for senior police officers in Patna has alos been approved.
