Global food giant Cargill has inaugurated a new corn milling plant in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, in collaboration with Saatvik Agro Processors to cater to increasing domestic demand. The facility will produce starch derivatives with an initial output of 500 tonne per day, scalable to 1,000 tpd.
The plant combines Cargill's global capabilities with Saatvik's local manufacturing expertise to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality food solutions in India. The facility will operate exclusively for Cargill, adhering to its stringent global food safety and quality standards. While initially focused on the domestic market, Cargill may explore export opportunities in the future.
President of Cargill India, Simon George remarked, "This Gwalior plant allows us to strengthen our manufacturing network in India to serve customers from North and West India more competitively while enhancing supply chain efficiencies that benefit the entire food ecosystem."
