The last open plot at Nariman Point in Mumbai, Maharashtra, will soon get a ground + 13 storey structure, spread over 29,000 sq ft. The building will house offices of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).
The plot is expected to be worth around Rs 237 crore. The proposal to create space for the Income Tax offices at Nariman Point was pending before the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Committee for a long time.
The plot is in CRZ II Zone, and because it remained unoccupied in decades, hutments had come up there, which have now been cleared.
