The Central government has granted environmental clearance for the Kodangal and Narayanapet Link Project in Telangana, which aims to address the drinking water requirements in three Assembly constituencies, including Kodangal.
The state government had submitted the application for clearance on January 13, and after thorough examination by the State-level authority, the Centre approved the project on January 29. Once completed, the project will facilitate the lifting of four thousand million cubic ft. (TMC) of water, meeting the drinking water needs of Narayanpet, Mukthal, and surrounding areas. The water will be lifted in three phases, ensuring that both drinking water and irrigation requirements are fulfilled for the local population.
This initiative is expected to significantly improve water availability in the region, benefiting several communities and agricultural needs.
