1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

China Light & Power emerges lowest bidder for Jhajjar power project

Hong Kong-based China Light & Power Holdings (CLP) has emerged the lowest bidder for setting up Haryana Power Generation Corporation's 1,320 MW thermal power project at Jhajjar in Haryana.

The bids were opened on 17 March 2008 and the letter of intent (LoI) is likely to be awarded by end-March 2008. CLP outbid Lanco Infratech and Torrent Power by quoting a per tariff of Rs.2.996. Lanco emerged as second lowest bidder at Rs.3.046 per unit, while Torrent Power followed at Rs.3.82 per unit.

The proposed power project with an investment of Rs.7,000 crore will be implemented in two units (660 MW each). Around 1,215 acres of land has been acquired for the project and letter of intents for environment impact assessment and geo-technical studies have already been completed. Draft detailed project report has been prepared from Desein and is in the final stages. The project will get coal linkage from Coal India's North Karanpura fields.

The first phase of 660 MW is expected to become operational within 42 months from the signing of the power purchase agreement. It is learnt that, CLP will have to sell 90 per cent of power to HPGCL and the balance 10 per cent outside Haryana.
