According to a preliminary study conducted by Projects Today, a total of 413 contracts with an order value totalling Rs 30,499.81 crore were awarded in November 2017.
These orders (domestic and overseas) were bagged by 188 companies across various sectors. Further, of the 413 finalised contracts, 12 were bagged by Indian companies to execute job work overseas.
In terms of value, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) bagged the majority of the contracts. Of the total contracts awarded, L&T bagged Rs 19,119.75 crore.
When compared to November 2016, in terms of value, the projex awarded grew by Rs 5,592.81 crore to Rs 30,499.81 crore.
A huge development was seen in the roadways sector which registered a growth of around 150 percent year-on-year in November 2017. The number of contracts awarded in this sector grew from 90 projects worth Rs 3,682 crore to 149 projects worth Rs 9,227.32 crore.
Airways (Aviation Infrastructure) was another sector which saw a major development. A total of five contracts worth Rs 1,364.36 crore were awarded in this sector in November 2017.
