D B Power plans to set up 3 coal based power plants at Raigarh, Singroli and
Jangir-Champa district respectively.
Of the 3 projects, a 1320 MW capacity coal based power plant will be developed
in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh at an investment of Rs.5,000 crore. The
company has acquired land for the project and has appointed DCPL, Kolkata as
consultants for the project. Work on the project will start by January 2009 and
will take two years for completion.
Another 1320 MW capacity coal based power plant in Janigir-Champa district has
been planned for which eGateway India, on behalf of D B Power has invited
tenders from contractors. The selected contractor’s scope of work will include
engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of steam
generators, steam turbine generators etc. The project has been allotted a coal
block. The power plant will be implemented in two units. Unit I will take 34
months for completion while the second unit will be completed in 39 months.
D B Power also plans to set up a 1350 MW coal based power plant in Singroli in
Madhya Pradesh entailing an investment of Rs.6,000 crore for which land
acquisition is underway.
