DP World has signed an agreement with the Madhya Pradesh government to develop the Powarkheda Logistics Composite Hub, an inland logistics gateway aimed at enhancing India’s export competitiveness and promoting inclusive growth in Central India.
This agreement, finalised at the World Economic Forum in Davos, was exchanged in the presence of Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World, and Dr Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. The hub will strategically position Madhya Pradesh as a critical node in India’s global trade network, leveraging its central location, export growth, and expanding agricultural and manufacturing sectors. The Powarkheda Hub will improve access to global markets by enabling faster, cost-effective containerised trade. It will connect key districts like Dhar, Indore, and Raisen to major rail corridors and ports, boosting sectors from agriculture to textiles and pharmaceuticals.
The 88.3-acre facility will offer containerised rail connectivity to Jawaharlal Nehru Port, warehousing, cold storage, and land for processing and manufacturing activities.
