1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

DVC to double power capacity

Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has unveiled a growth plan to double its installed capacity of 6,900 MW. 
 
An investment of around Rs 50,000 crore will be made over the next seven-eight years, with focus on renewables. 
 
The company has firmed up plans to add around 3,700 MW of thermal capacity in brownfield expansions by 2030 with a capex of around Rs 30,000 crore. The solar and pumped storage projects will be executed through joint ventures. 
 
It is planning to add 2x660 MW at Raghunathpur, 800 MW at Durgapur and 2x800 MW at Koderma, as part of the brownfield expansion. 
 
The company is also looking at adding 2,150 MW in solar and 2,100 MW through two pumped storage projects (1,500 MW at Lagu Pahaar in Jharkhand and 600 MW in Purulia district of West Bengal). This will entail investment of another Rs 20,000 crore. 
 
The non-thermal projects would be executed through joint ventures with state-owned companies like NTPC, SJVN and NHPC. 
 
Moreover, the company is actively considering generating green hydrogen, and is working on a five MW trial project in collaboration with the World Bank.
