Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) is
planning to redevelop 22 industrial areas in the city at an investment of about
Rs 2,000 crore.
The Corporation has undertaken the task as per the provisions of the master
plan-2021. The existing units in these industrial areas, which till now were not
part of planned development activities of government agencies, are likely to
provide the funds for their own redevelopment.
DSIIDC has signed an MoU with Mundka Industrial Area Welfare Society. In
Mundka, an industrial cluster located over 400 acre is likely to be redeveloped.
It is likely to include areas like Phirni Road and Mundka Udyog Nagar. The area
does not have metalled roads and lacks civic amenities like water supply,
sewerage and drains, according to sources. The cost of the redevelopment is to
be borne by the industrial area welfare society, which is likely to generate the
funds from its members.
The other areas include Libaspur, Mandavli, Shahdara, Naresh Park, Rithala,
Hasthsal and Swaran Park.
Meanwhile, DSIIDC is likely to take over 29 industrial estates from Municipal
Corporation of Delhi and the Delhi Development Authority under the new Delhi
Industrial Development, Operation and Maintenance law. Work on these estates is
likely to commence by January 2011.
