Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh laid foundation stones and inaugurated a slew of development projects, worth Rs 265.15 crore.
Of the projects launched, Rs 132.54 crore is being spent on the development projects in Kapurthala district in commemoration of the 550th Prakash Purav of Guru Nanak.
Foundation stone was laid for Smart LED street lights in the entire city at a cost of Rs 46 crore.
Under this project, to be completed by August 2020, all the existing street lights in the city will be replaced with Smart LED lights.
Foundation stone was laid for way finding and traffic signages project for the city at a cost of Rs. 3.14 crore which will be completed by August 2020.
Apart from this, the CM laid the foundation stone for Smart City project to impart computer education in 140 Government primary and middle schools, having 470 digital class rooms, at a cost of Rs 3.69 crore to be completed by August 2020.
Foundation stone was laid for supply and five years operation and maintenance of self-propelled sweeping machine for Burlton Park area at a cost of Rs three crore to be completed by November 2019.
Moreover, the CM laid the foundation stone for 2,504 mtr long storm sewer line to carry water from Doaba Chowk up to Kala Sanghian drain worth Rs 5.41 crore. The project is to be completed in August 2020.
Foundation stone was laid for extension of 5.5 km long storm water sewer from petrol pump to dairy complex near Jamsher at a cost of Rs 67 lakh.
