Eastern Coalfields plans expansion of Rajmahal Open Cast Coal Mining at Bara, Chhota Bhorai, Lohandiya, Paharpur and Talijhari villages in Godda district of Jharkhand.
The capacity will be raised from seven million tpa to 23.8 million tpa. The project will spread over 1,978 ha of land.
As per the update available with Projects Today, the company has received environment clearance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) for the project.
Contractor yet to be finalised for the project. Work is expected to begin by July 2020.
The mining project generate employment for 2,710 persons.
