Epiroc AB, a global productivity and sustainability partner for mining and infrastructure, broke ground on a new production and R&D facility in Nashik on 26 August, 2025.
The 1,75,000 sq. mtrs. site will develop, innovate, and produce underground and surface equipment for mining and construction, alongside housing offices, prototyping areas, an R&D lab, and an outdoor equipment test track. Operations are expected to begin in Q3/2026, with phased expansion thereafter. The project will generate about 200 new direct employment, raising Epiroc’s Nashik workforce from 280 to nearly 500.
“The new facility in Nashik is a key step in further expanding our presence in the growing and very important Indian market, and it will also support our customers globally,” said Helena Hedblom, Epiroc’s President and CEO. Epiroc employs around 1,750 people in India across Nashik, Hyderabad, and other sites. Recent expansions include a rock drilling tools plant in Hyderabad and an innovation and technology centre. Arunkumar Govindarajan, President Epiroc India, emphasized the project’s alignment with ‘Make in India’.
