Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) is set to expand its presence in India with a new 60,000 sq. ft. integrated hub at the AI-SATS logistics park, Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru.
This expansion aligns with the airport’s plan to nearly double its annual cargo handling capacity to one million tonne, reinforcing Bengaluru’s role as a key export gateway for India. The new facility, with a throughput capacity of 4,000 packages per hour, features advanced systems such as automated processing, mechanised conveyors, and a high-speed dynamic dimensioning machine for efficient handling of time-sensitive shipments.
Suvendu Choudhury, FedEx's VP of India operations, emphasized that the hub enhances India's logistics infrastructure by combining intelligent processes with advanced automation, boosting global market access for businesses. "This new hub strengthens our India network... enabling businesses of every size to access global markets with greater confidence," he said. The facility supports industries like pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and high-value exports, driving India's export-driven growth aims.
