The Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Company (JUIDCO) will soon invite private bids for market development plans at four commercial centres -- Bistupur, Sakchi, Golmuri and Baridih. The project will see investments to the tune of Rs 5,000 crore.
The nodal agency expects to complete the tendering process by July 2019. The work order for the same will be issued in monsoon so that work on the renovation of the commercial hubs begins from October 2019 onwards.
As per the plan, each commercial centre will have G+five market complexes, similar to posh malls, with amenities such as proper basement parking space, CCTV cameras, fire alarms, modern firefighting equipment, elevators, cafeterias and washrooms.
In all, 37 acre of government land will be utilised for the market development plans at the four locations. The project will see modern facilities for shoppers and traders in Phase-I under the development plans. Gradually, similar plans will be replicated at other commercial hubs of Jamshedpur.
These projects will be funded on the public-private partnership (PPP) mode.

The projects is to be completed within two-and-a-half years since awarding the work order.
The detailed project reports (DPRs) were prepared by the IL&FS Infrastructure Development Corporation (IIDC). The project has also been cleared by the district administration in Jamshedpur in 2017-18.
