Gas
Authority of India (GAIL) has commissioned the first dispatch terminal of the
Jamnagar-Loni Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) pipeline. The 1,230 km pipeline
will transport LPG from Jamnagar in Gujarat to Loni in Uttar Pradesh, passing
through Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi, en route.
The
pipeline will transport LPG for Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum
Corporation and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, the source of LPG being the Reliance
and Essar refineries in Jamnagar and IOC’s import terminal at Kandla.
The
LPG would be evacuated at Ajmer and Jaipur in Rajasthan, Piyala in Haryana,
Madanpur Khadar in Delhi and finally at Loni.
All major oil companies have their bottling plants at terminals in these
locations.
