GMR Airports has received a letter of intent to award (LOIA) from its subsidiary, Delhi International Airport (DIAL), confirming its selection to finance, design, develop, construct, operate, manage, and maintain Cargo City at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi.
The concession is valid until 2036, with the option to extend for an additional 30 years. The project spans 50.5 acres within IGI Airport, including a 10-acre optional parcel for future development. It will feature state-of-the-art cargo and logistics facilities. The revenue model involves a share of Cargo City earnings to be paid to DIAL annually, with a minimum monthly guarantee estimated at Rs. 415.74 crore for the initial term.
This initiative is expected to enhance cargo handling capacity and logistics efficiency at one of India’s busiest airports, aligning with the company’s strategy to strengthen its position in the aviation infrastructure sector.
