The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has set December 31 as the deadline for completing its 24x7 potable water supply project in the north-west part of Visakhapatnam, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The project is already operational in Madhavadhara, Muralinagar, and Marripalem, delivering about 5,000 water connections, but pending work remains. GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg, along with water supply engineers, reviewed progress in Zone-V’s Madhavadhara sector and instructed Superintending Engineer KVN Ravi to ensure contractors finish all remaining tasks promptly.
The Commissioner also called for an analysis comparing consumption under the 24x7 system with the earlier conventional supply to understand usage patterns. The review meeting included Executive Engineers Yedukondalu and Muralikrishna, Deputy Executive Engineer Satish, and officials from Nagarjuna Construction Company.
