General Mills India has marked a milestone with the setting up of a new plant in Maharashtra at an investment of about Rs 100 crore. The company held the groundbreaking ceremony of the plant on 13 September, 2023.
As General Mills’ second manufacturing facility for Pillsbury baking mixes in the country, it would serve as the epicentre for this segment in the Indian market. The facility, which will cater to the evolving consumer needs for bakery solutions, is expected to be operational by August 2024.
This is strategic to the company’s aims to double its manufacturing footprint in India, which is among General Mills’ priority markets worldwide for its growth-led goals.
The company is part of US-based packaged food major, General Mills Inc. General Mills' portfolio includes brands such as Betty Crocker, Cheerios and Haagen-Dazs among others.
