Genus Power Infrastructures has been awarded a letter of award (LoA) worth Rs 2,259.94 crore for supplying smart meters. The company has been appointed as an advanced metering infrastructure service provider (AMISP).
The company has received LoA for designing an AMI system along with the supplying, installing, commissioning, and providing facilities management services (FMS) for 27.33 lakh smart prepaid meters, system meters, and DT meters with corresponding energy accounting on a finance, build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis.
Since July 2023, the company has secured six orders totalling about Rs 15,160 crore for installing approx. 172.03 lakh smart prepaid meters. With this, its order book now stands at over Rs 19,000 crore.
Moreover, the increasing adoption of smart meters by various State Electricity Boards (SEBs) is attributed to the impact of the ‘Reforms-Based, Result-Linked Power Distribution Sector Scheme.’
