Department of Industry & Commerce, Karnataka, plans to set up a Global
Financial District (GFD) near Bangalore International Airport to facilitate
smooth financial service to investors coming to the state.
GFD is likely to be set up in 150 acre with residential quarters for the
staff near Devanahalli on the outskirts of Bangalore. The work on the facility
estimated to cost Rs 5,000 crore is to be established on PPP model from March
2010.
