Gujarat Gas Company (GGCL) has inked an agreement with the Gujarat State Petroleum Corp (GSPC) to purchase gas from the latter for almost 12 years.
The company plans to purchase 0.65 million standard cu mtr per day of gas. Gujarat Gas Company retails CNG to automobiles and piped cooking gas to households in some cities of Gujarat.
It will buy 0.574 million standard cu mtr per day of gas between March 2014 upto July 2025, and 0.076 million standard cu mtr per day between January 2014 upto July 2025.
In September 2013, both the companies had inked an MoU for a long term gas supply deal. As per the MoU, GSPC agreed to supply 0.85 million standard cu mtr per day of gas to GGCL from January 2014 to June 2025.
GSPC will import gas in its liquid form at either Dahej or Hazira and supply the fuel to GGCL.
