Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) is likely to acquire HMT Machine Tools (HMT-MTL),
a wholly-owned subsidiary of HMT to enhance its range of products and services.
HEC has received an in-principle approval from the Union Government for the
merger of HMT-MTL with itself. Currently, HEC in advanced stages of discussion
with HMT-MTL and the MoU is likely to be signed soon.
HMT MTL has five factories in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ajmer (Rajasthan),
Pinjore (Haryana) and Kalamassery (Kerala).
