The Himachal Pradesh Government's annual plan for the next fiscal 2010-11 has been fixed
at Rs 3,000 crore which is almost Rs 300 crore more than the allotted amount of
the current annual plan of 2009-10.
The size of outlay has been finalised in a meeting between Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief
Minister, and Montek Singh Alhuwalia, Deputy Chairman of the Planning
Commission.
Of the total plan size, agriculture and allied services have been allocated
Rs 342 crore while rural development has been allocated Rs 168 crore. In
addition to this, the social sector has been given top priority with the
allocation of Rs 1,010.79 crore. A sum of Rs 588 crore has been allocated for
the transport and communication sectors and Rs 354.37 crore for the energy
sector.
Also, 310.48 crore has been kept separately for irrigation and flood control
activities.
