The Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor project is progressing with the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) securing consent for nearly 300 hectares of land under its land pooling program.
The project, valued at over Rs 2,400 crore, aims to improve connectivity between Indore and Pithampur, key industrial hubs in Madhya Pradesh. The planned corridor covers 1,177 hectares, including both private and government land. MPIDC has already received consent for 295 hectares from landowners and transferred 170 hectares of government land. The project will enhance logistics, support industries in sectors like auto and pharmaceuticals, and attract investment.
Himanshu Prajapati, MPIDC's Executive Director, expressed optimism, saying, “The response from landowners has been encouraging and the project is moving in the right direction." Once completed, the corridor will ease freight movement, reduce travel time, and improve industrial competitiveness in the region. The project is now moving toward finalising engineering designs and phased development.
