Ircon International has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for modernisation and system augmentation works in Kanpur Electricity Supply Company (KESCo), with a bid value of Rs 497.50 crore.
The scope of work includes the supply and erection of new substations, capacity enhancement of power transformers, installation of additional power transformers, and the development of 33 kV and 11 kV transmission lines. Additionally, the project covers augmentation and reconductoring of existing transmission lines, installation and upgradation of distribution transformers, construction of low-tension lines using bare conductors and aerial bundled (AB) cables, and the erection or replacement of protection and switching devices, including switchgears.
The modernisation initiative is expected to strengthen Kanpur’s electricity distribution network, ensuring better service quality and increased operational efficiency.
