JSW Steel has partnered with Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC) to set up APJSW, a newly incorporated joint venture for developing the Konijedu Marlapadu Integrated iron ore project in Andhra Pradesh.
The project, involving an investment of Rs 1,075 crore, is designed to mine and beneficiate low-grade iron ore to secure raw material supplies for JSW Steel’s operations. Under the equity structure, JSW Steel will hold 89 percent, while APMDC will retain 11 percent stake, ensuring state participation in the venture. The integrated project is expected to deliver 1.3 million tonne per annum (MTPA) of beneficiated iron ore concentrate. This will significantly reduce JSW Steel’s reliance on imported iron ore, resulting in substantial cost savings while also enhancing supply chain security.
The joint venture’s registered office is located in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. This project aligns with both JSW Steel’s raw material integration strategy and APMDC’s mandate to promote mineral resource development within the state.
