The Karnataka government will implement a series of drinking water projects in Belagavi district, with a total investment of Rs 1,000 crore.
Urban Development and Town Planning Minister Byrathi Suresh announced this, stating that most of the funds have already been allocated, and work is currently underway. He mentioned that in the previous year, the Urban Development Department had released Rs 13,500 crore for clean drinking water and drainage systems across the state. He made the announcement after launching a round-the-clock drinking water project in Mutyanatti, a rural area on the outskirts of Belagavi. The new facility, with a capacity of five lakh litres, will supply water to north Belagavi’s rural areas, addressing long-standing water scarcity issues.
"With the new facility, every house will get round-the-clock water supply, providing a permanent solution to the problem," Minister Suresh said. He highlighted the involvement of KUIDFC, the Belagavi city corporation, and other agencies in the project’s execution.
