Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, inaugurated Perkins Aurangabad Engine facility at Shendra MIDC on 9 November, 2016.
With an investment of Rs 1,000 crore, the company aims to manufacture 3,000 engines per annum.
The CM noted that the first well planned greenfield Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC) will bring an investments of Rs 70,000 crore and will create direct employment for three lakh people by 2030.
The city, planned in four phases along Shendra and Bidkin, will be completed between October 2018 and 2022.
The CM also performed the bhoomipujan for the 2.5 lakh sq ft AURIC Hall within the main administrative building at Shendra MIDC, Aurangabad. The land acquisition for the project is almost complete, while work on road projects is in progress.
The centre has provided Rs 600 crore for the project, while an additional Rs 300 crore is being sanctioned.
