Khazanah Nasional Berhad, the sovereign wealth fund of the Malaysia Government, is planning to invest in India.
The company intends to invest in sectors like financial services, infrastructure and energy in India. However, the company has not earmarked for investing in these sectors. It is looking at to invest in the energy segment, mainly in the hydro and thermal power segment. Currently, the company is working on some deals in these sectors.
At present, the company holds stakes in Apollo Hospital, Idea Cellular, IDFC and YES Bank in the country. Through Malaysia Airports, the fund house has also partnered with Indian infrastructure firm GMR to build airports in Hyderabad, Delhi and Istanbul.
