Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah dedicated a multi-village drinking water project to the public on 11 January 2018.
The project is expected to benefit the residents of 124 villages in Nanjangud, Karnataka. It has been developed at an investment of around Rs 125.10 crore.
Water will be pumped from Kapila river to the treatment plant at Madapura near Hullahalli. A storage tank of 590 kilo ltr capacity has been constructed for supply and distribution of water.
Apart from this, the CM also inaugurated or laid the foundation stone for various other work worth Rs 484.76 crore (including the drinking water project). The foundation stone was laid for various amenities for the government PU college for girls at Nanjangud town at a cost of Rs 1.55 crore.
